FAVORITE SCENE

GL : Do you think I'm weird?

CC : Definitely.

GL : No, seriously. Am I weird?

CC : Yes, but so what? Everybody's weird.
You ready for school? Junior high.
You know what that means.
By next June we'll all be split up.

GL : What are you talking about?
Why would that happen?

CC : Cause it's not going to be Iike grammar school, that's why.
You'll be taking college courses, and me, Teddy, Vern we'll all be in the shop courses
making ashtrays and birdhouses.
You're gonna meet a lot of new guys. Smart guys.

GL : Meet a lot of pussies is what you mean.

CC : No, man. Don't say that. Don't even think that.

GL : I'm not going in with a Iot of pussies.

CC : Then you're an asshole.

GL : What's asshole with wanting to be with your friends?

CC : It's asshole if your friends drag you down.

GL : You hang with us, you'll just be another wise guy with shit for brains.

CC : You could be a real writer someday.

GL : Fuck writing! I don't to be a writer. It's stupid. It's a stupid waste of time.

CC : That's your dad talking.

GL : Bullshit!

CC : Bulltrue!
I know how your dad feels about you, he doesn't care about you.
Denny was the one he cared about, and don't try to tell me different.
You're just a kid, Gordie.

GL : Gee thanks, Dad.

CC : I wish to hell I was your dad.
You wouldn't be talking about taking these stupid shop courses if I was.
It's like God gave you something, man, all those stories that you can make up.
He said, "This is what we got for you. Try not to lose it".
Kids Iose everything unless there's someone there to look out for them.
If your parents are too fucked-up to do it, then maybe I should.
